The HappyShutter iPhone app only takes the photo... if everyone is smiling!

The technology already exists
in some digital cameras, but not in the iPhone as standard.
So how about making your iPhone smart enough to detect
the face(s) of your subjects andonly take the photo when
everyone smiles
?

Well a solution exists and it is supported by iPhone since it is
l’application "HappyShutter".

It is available
here for download on the App Store at the price of 0.79 euros

But how does it work?and above all, is it
works?

For operation, I invite you tolire
the long article on the subject proposed here
(in English) but to do
simple it uses the
new face detection functions offered by iOS 5 that we had
mentioned here
etseen in
action in the Halftone app here
.

Concretely, after launch (a little long, you have been warned!), you see
squares appear on the screen at the location of the detected faces.

Ensuite, when the subject(s) will smile, then the application
will detect the change and take the photo
. But be careful, he
You won't have to settle for a mother-in-law's half-smile or a pinched smile
old grump, no you will have to smile with your teeth and open your eyes wide
eyes.

This worked quite well (test on iPhone 4) for the tests we have
could do it even in a dark environment but let's not hide it we must
or naturally an ultra-British smileorforce it
smile
in other cases. In the end, we sometimes seem quite little
natural unfortunately!

It nevertheless becomes possible to take photos of oneself or of a group without
need someone to trigger the photo. But once again,
smile hardand click it's in the box. We also note
a few unwanted triggers, but better more photos than none
enough.

On the interface side, nothing fantastic, it's clearly the minimum
union and we noticed strange transitions (screen flashes) when we
wants to consult the photos already taken, no problem but it will deserve an update
jour.

Not essential, not necessarily 100% reliable, so reserve for those who
smile at life to the fullest and at the curious but don't count on it
for a perfect result!
