Apple could launch a new button on the next iPhone

Rumors regarding the iPhone 15 and in particular its “Pro” version are increasingly numerous. They notably mention the arrival of “semiconductor” buttons. Already used by Apple on the iPhone 7, 8 and SE, this technology replaces traditional physical buttons.

An “action” button on the iPhone 15 Pro

If this idea is still open to debate, several analysts such as journalist Mark Gurman or Ming-Chi Kuo have backtracked on the question of buttons, other people continue to believe in this theory. According to the latest message posted on Twitter from @analyst941, the physical buttons will no longer be there, as will the small button allowing you to mute the iPhone.

This physical toggle could be replaced by Apple on the iPhone 15 Pro. Still according to information provided by @analyst941, this new button will control the “action” mode of the phone. While we still know little about this feature, it could replace the volume buttons in the camera app.

It is now possible to take a photo using these volume buttons, which allows you to not have your hand on the screen when taking the photo. This small change in location should not be very annoying and will allow Apple to publicize this little-used feature.

A serious rumor?

But as said above, this rumor raises many debates. Ming-Chi Kuo announced a few days ago, following an analysis by Jeff Pu, that haptic feedback buttons will not be available on the iPhone 15 Pro. It's hard to imagine Apple changing its "silence" button without touching the other three.

For now, the iPhone 15 Pro is announced as a slight improvement of the iPhone 14 Pro. The phone is expected to feature a better processor as well as a USB-C port. This new feature, imposed by Europe, should be present on all four models this year, but in different form. This will be the first time the iPhone has ditched Lighting in over 10 years.
