Apple continues to fight Covid with its products (RED)

Apple announced this week that the Cupertino company would extend its partnership with its products (RED) to fight Covid at least until the end of 2021. Originally set up to fight AIDS , (RED) Apple productsare identical to other iPhone, iPad and Mac available on the Apple Storeexcept for two details. Apple defended this decision by explaining that it wanted to provide “essential support to the health systems most threatened by the epidemic”. Initiallythis exceptional financingof the Apple was to end this week, on June 30. But Apple has decided to run this partnership until the end of 2021the least.

Apple and (RED): 15 years of history

Apple began its collaboration with (RED) products in 2006, as mentioned above, the first funds raised by the company were used to finance actions to fight AIDS, in particular research laboratories to find a treatment for this disease which has caused 39 million deaths since its discovery in 1981.

Other action carried out by Apple until December 7, Apple will donate $1 for every purchase made with Apple Pay on apple.com, in the App Store app, or in an Apple Store. These donations will also finance the fund to fight COVID-19.
