BlaBlaCar has just revealeda new appcalled BlaBlaHelp. Available for free oniOSand Android for a few days, it has presented itself as a support solution between individuals. With this, users can choose to help their neighbors by becoming helpers or to get help from users located near their home.
BlaBlaHelp, a neighborhood application
In a press release dedicated to the launch of the application, BlaBlaCar explains that BlaBlaHelp is the result of a hackathon which took place over a few days.
In terms of use, the usage is quite similar to the carpooling platform. You must first connect to the services with the same identifiers, or create an account, to be able to benefit from the app's services.
Once on the BlaBlaHelp homepage, a map allows you to specify a location, where a button placed at the bottom of the screen offers the possibility of becoming a helper. When you have chosen a more precise location, you can access the profiles of the helpers and the assistance they can provide during this period of confinement. The majority of them offer to do local shopping, pick up mail or medication at the pharmacy.
As part of the launch of the application, BlaBlaCar invites its users to respect barrier gestures as well as government instructions.
The same goes for its carpooling service, which the French startup has not completely suspended in case some people have to make compulsory journeys. However, it advises its users not to carpool for the moment and limits transport to only one person in addition to the driver.
