Apple continues to work hard to improve its AI applications, and this includes improving the iPhone to better accelerate the deployment of this technology. If we are to believe the information fromThe Elec, the Cupertino company would have even turned to Samsung, its main competitor in the smartphone market, to work on a new project.
What is Apple's idea?
According to our colleagues, the Apple brand wants to go against the grain of what is currently being done on phones in terms of AI. Today, the RAM is located in the same housing as the processor. The Tech giant has the idea of placing the RAM and the processor in separate chips.
For what ? The ambition is to integrate more RAM to allow faster operation of Apple Intelligence. Its South Korean rival has reportedly started working on this initiative to create a new case which would then be connected to the processor as smoothly as possible.
Nothing is won yet, because the size of the iPhone makes this maneuver difficult. It would therefore be possible that the Cupertino company would be forced to reduce the size of its battery and its SoC. If the idea comes to fruition, it could in any case integrate the iPhone 18 range from 2026.
Apple Intelligence is launched
All of this therefore remains to be taken with a pinch of salt. In the meantime, Apple Intelligence has indeed been launched since the updateiOS 18.1last October 28. It is thus possible to use the Correction tool to remove certain unwanted elements from photos, or even a writing functionality which makes Siri more intelligent with the help of ChatGPT. The French must, however, be patient, since these options will not be availableonly from April 2025.
