The new version 15.7.1 of iOS has been available for a few hours, the same for iPadOS 15.7.1. It is strongly recommended to update your iPhone or iPad and take advantage of one or the other of these updates, since they both fix major security vulnerabilities.
If you already have iOS 16 or iPadOS 16, you don't have to do anything, iOS 15.7.1 and iPadOS 15.7.1 target iPhone and iPad users who have not made the leap to iOS/iPadOS 16.
Nearly twenty flaws corrected!
The iOS 15.7.1 release note indicates that the program fixes no less than18 security vulnerabilities. One of them was particularly critical, since it allowed a hacker who knew how to exploit it to access the target machine with a very high level of privilege.
Otherwise, in the batch of fixes, several affect the in-house WebKit web engine. But there are also corrections applied to image processing, graphics drivers, the FaceTime application and even the Apple Neural Engine.
For which iPhone and iPad?
All iPhones and iPads supporting iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 can benefit from this 15.7.1 update.
