Apple unveils its new iPad Pro with M2 chip

It is via a simple press release that Apple has just given the first information concerning its new iPad Pro M2. The big change to remember with this new generation is the arrival of theM2 chip, already presented in June during WWDC. With this new SoC at the heart of the iPad, the machine gains in power (with calculation speed improved by 40% compared to the M1 chip, according to Apple).

For the rest, the changes are few. The iPad format is always the same. Two models are therefore available, the first with an 11-inch panel, the second, a little larger, with 12.9″ screen diagonal. Like last year with the iPad Pro M1, Apple has chosen to differentiate the two sizes.

Not the same screen, not the same battery

The 11-inch model therefore has an LED display with a resolution of2388 x 1668 pixels at 264 pixels per inch.At the same time, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro M2 has a screen withmini-LED technology.

This difference allows for better brightness on the larger of the two iPads and better light peaks. To get a numerical idea, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro M2 reachesthe 1600 nightsagainst600only on the 11-inch LED screen.

Once under the screen, the differences are even rarer between the two models. The battery changes a little. With more space, the 12.9-inch model offers40,88 Wh. According to Apple's figures, this corresponds to autonomyfrom 10 a.m.As for the 11-inch model, the battery is smaller, only28 Wh.The announced autonomy is, however, the same as for the large model.

Price and release date

Apple announces in its press release that the 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro are available this eveningon pre-orderon the apple brand's online store. The first deliveries will take place fromfrom Wednesday October 26.
