Apple goes Slim with its future iPhone

Apart from artificial intelligence, it is unlikely that the iPhone 16 Pro range will see any significant innovations, especially with regard to its components. As a reminder, when Apple offers new features on iPhone, they are generally introduced on the Pro models, then later on the non-Pro ranges. This is for example the case of the Action button on the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max, which will beprobably expanded to iPhone 16/16 Plus.

According to rumors, we will have to wait until 2025 andthe iPhone 17 to take advantage of significant new hardware features. It is also believed that Apple is considering a major redesign for the iPhone 17, which includes aDynamic Island plus petit. The dynamic island could also disappear with the iPhone 18, which should also offer acamera under screen, to offer users a uniform display of the screen surface, without notch.

To complete it all, Mark Gurman has just announced that the iPhone 17 will be very thin, like the iPad Pro M4.

The entire Apple range is on a diet

One of the most important challenges in terms of new technologies is to succeed in creating increasingly efficient components. Apple has been doing well in this area since it began creating ARM chips with integrated GPUs, which now rival some dedicated graphics cards.

Apple's prowess lies in offeringalmost similar power, with less energy expenditure, and reduced size. Apple Silicon chips therefore heat up less than dedicated chips, so much so that there is no need for a fan on the M3 MacBook Air. This allows Apple to offer very powerful devices, but not bulky, with a thin, sober, and refined design. We are far fromold big Mac from the time filled with fans and which looks like a briefcase.

Either way, the iPhone 17 should alsobenefit from an ultra-thin format, as Mark Gurman reports:

I'm told Apple is now focused on developing a significantly thinner phone, in time for the iPhone 17 lineup in 2025. The company is also working to make the MacBook Pro and Apple Watch thinner. The plan is for the latest iPad Pro to be the start of a new class of Apple devices that are expected to be the thinnest and lightest products in their class in the entire tech industry.
