Apple and Zeiss have developed the glasses of the future compatible with the Vision Pro

Apple has just announced the release date of the Vision Pro in the United States. From February 2, the apple brand will therefore have a new product in its catalog. With the Vision Pro, Apple highlights mixed and augmented reality. But by placing the screen on the eyes, or almost, the Cupertino company has created a major problem.

Indeed, not everyone who wears glasses simply can use the Vision Pro. Faced with this major problem which could reduce the number of potential buyers by half, Apple had to find a solution. She then contacted Zeiss, a company specializing in the construction of corrective lenses for vision.

Together, the two companies have developed optical inserts that attach magnetically to the Vision Pro lenses. They will be sold by Apple at a price of $99. These glasses will obviously not be built in a single format but they will adapt to everyone's eyesight.

How to get Apple & Zeiss lenses?

To obtain these lenses, spectacle wearers will need to obtain a prescription. Apple warns from the outset, not all prescriptions will be accepted. Some technical limitations prevent Apple from building glasses for certain people, so they won't be able to usethe Vision Pro, at least, not by seeing clearly.

Today, inserts to improve vision are the only additional purchase available on Apple's website when looking to pre-order a Vision Pro (which is impossible before January 19). In addition to this available accessory, Apple has put together a whole “user kit” for the Vision Pro.

The headset is delivered with two headbands, two cushions, a seal and a protective cover for the front of the device. Apple has also included a cloth in this starter pack, the famous piece of fabric sold for €25 which allows you to wash Apple screens (and only those).
