But Apple has just put an end to this information, the Apple brand has in fact allowed users outside the borders of the USA to use Apple Intelligence in the latest version of iOS 18.1. With this third beta version, it is now possible to useApple Intelligence from all regions of the world.
The only limitation still present concerns the language of use. If it is possible to operate Apple Intelligence from Brazil or India, you will need to communicate with your iPhone in English.
The question of the European Union
If we wrote above that everyone could use Apple Intelligence, this is not entirely correct. The functionality is in fact not present in Europe. New regulations, particularly related to the DMA and DSA, have cooled Apple. The Cupertino company does not want to launch Apple Intelligence on the old continent, thus avoiding probable legal attacks.
This decision, taken by Apple without consulting Brussels to add a little more fuel to the fire between the two parties. When announcing the absence of Apple intelligence in Europe, Commissioner Margrethe Vestager did not mince her words. She accused Apple of engaging in “anti-competitive behavior.” A shame when we know that it is precisely to protect itself from this type of accusations that Apple decided not to launch its functionality in Europe.
For the commissioner, Apple's choice demonstrates its desire not to submit to the DMA, even if it means sacrificing functionalities on the altar of monopoly.
