Apple launches suite of services for “small businesses”

Apple Business Essentials: this is the name of the new B2B* software suite available now in the United States for Mac, iPad and iPhone users. For the moment, however, access is limited to a public beta. It is therefore important to know that possible technical problems may arise, although the various apps provided here have been available in stable versions for a long time.

Built-in platforms include Pages, Numbers, iCloud and Apple Support. Managers will be able to subscribe to a plan starting at $2.99 per device with 50 GB of storage included, which is equivalent to less than three euros per month (for now, it's free). Other subscriptions offered are billed at $6.99 monthly (price per user for multiple devices, with 200 GB) or $12.99 per month per user but with 2 TB of disk space. Soon, AppleCare+ insurance will also complete the range of services offered, by next spring.

Ideal for management

Concretely, Business Essentials is mainly intended for those who manage a team since it also involves onboarding (integration of new employees) and assignments. With this suite, it is possible to quickly unlock access to all of the company's apps based on each employee's profile, including third-party services such as Evernote, Word, Slack and many others.

The control panel also allows you to create “collections” of apps for each of its flagship professions. It also has a section dedicated to support, which Apple guarantees here with lightning speed, well beyond what is offered to individuals in its stores (you sometimes have to wait several weeks without replacement hardware to get your computer back in good working order).

Not yet available in France

Unfortunately, this fleet management system is not yet available for France and we do not yet know if it will be. Compatibility goes up to five hundred employees, and among the other functionalities we also find the configuration of virtual private networks, the deployment of settings on the scale of the entire computer park or even the blocking of certain information for the sake of security and confidentiality . Other apps, this time rather favored by everyone, are also still unavailable in certain European countries such asApple News+.
