3 Apple products whose notable absence at the keynote is risky

  • MacBook Air and MacBook Pro M3 would be late
  • Their release date would be pushed back to October
  • A second keynote may be planned for the occasion

Also mentioning the case of new iPad Pros, analyst Mark Gurman just talked about Macs that could be behind next month. So, while the next laptops with M3 chip were expected for the supposed September 12 keynote, significant delays would ultimately push back their release date. This would therefore rather be planned for October.

So let’s take a quick overview of the models concerned…

1 – Le MacBook Air M3

To begin with, it is undoubtedly the MacBook Air M2 which should have seen the light of day in about two weeks, but which, according to Gurman, would ultimately not be presented until later. However, the previous version, still in stores currently, is already more than a year old. A new model with a large diagonal of fifteen inches certainly saw the light of day, during the Worldwide Developer Conference. But without the chip being significantly improved.

The M3 motherboardcould be equipped, first of all, with a CPU with twelve cores, half of which would be dedicated to high energy efficiency. The graphics card, for its part, would reach no less than eighteen cores. As for RAM, users could configure thirty-six gigabytes. But it is very possible that the basic version will be satisfied with eight.

2 – Le MacBook Pro M3

With the MacBook Air, it is also the MacBook Pro which would upgrade to the M3 – for the most compact version, in any case. This is the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro, whose design is the only one not to have received a serious makeover, recently, on the side of laptops. Indeed, where the MacBook Air abandoned its wasp waist, the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the 16-inch MacBook Pro welcomed the notch.

But the MacBook Pro continues to offer fairly wide borders, what's more, it's the only Apple device to still be equipped with the Touch Bar. Its destiny therefore seems all mapped out for a new format, with of course the M3 chip under the hood there too.

3 – The iPhone 15 Pro Max

Finally, according to other rumors, it is the iPhone 15 Pro Max which would also be pushed back to October. And for good reason: Sony, which is responsible for the dorsal photo module, would have experienced some production problems

A keynote in October?

In his weekly newsletter, which discusses all these last minute changes, Mark Gurman seems to be banking on the possibility of a second keynote at the end of the year. This could therefore be organized in October.

Otherwise, the new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with M3 chip could be revealed via a simple press release. But it’s hard to imagine a premium iPhone being entitled to the same fate…
