No one saw it coming, and yet. Apple has just launched a new iPad mini. The tablet was only announced through a simple press release. If it was one of the products that were to be released before the end of the month, the Apple brand's analysts expecteda conferencein due form, as Apple has given us the habit for years.
iPad mini 7: what features?
Once the element of surprise has passed, let's turn to the technical sheet of this new iPad mini. The tablet was launched with an A17 Pro chip. A choice that is not insignificant on the part of Apple. This chip, with the A18 which remains exclusive to the iPhone 16, is the only one to operateApple Intelligence.
The arrival of this processor, present on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max since last year, therefore betrays Apple's desire to extend its intelligent service as widely as possible. This chip upgrade allows the iPad mini to have a 30% faster processor and a 25% more efficient GPU.
The base model comes with 128GB of storage. Apple is still banking on a 6.8-inch Liquid Retina screen. This is the same as on the 2021 version of the tablet. For the rest of the components, Apple has not made any changes and the two generations of iPad mini are very similar. Note the compatibility with the Apple Pencil Pro, thus facilitating the use of the tablet on a daily basis.
Prices and availability
Apple announced the iPad mini 7 for $499 across the Atlantic. In France it is already possible to pre-order the tablet at the price of€609 in its 128 GB version. It is available in four very pastel colors: black, white, blue and mauve.
Is the 256 GB version sold for €739 while the 512 GB version is €989? The model is available in its Wifi and cellular version (sold at €779). The tablet will be available in stores and the first deliveries will take place fromfrom October 23.
