A few hours ago, two new updates were deployed by the Californian firm. These are iOS 17.0.2 and watchOS 10.0.1. Let's see what these two updates bring.
iOS 17.0.2: what's new?
iOS 17 was releasedlast week, as explained here, withlots of new features. Not exempt from bugs and new problems (including one affecting the sound of notifications), iOS 17 was upgraded to version 17.0.1 and version 17.0.2 last night to mark the release of the new iPhones.
Why these two updates? Quite simply, because iOS 17.0.2 is a version exclusive to the new iPhone 15 and 15 Pro available in stores this morning. This version, according to Apple, fixes various bugs and security flaws, and rectifies a problem that could be encountered when transferring data from iPhone to iPhone.
iOS 17.0.1, accessible from all other iPhones, also addresses various security vulnerabilities, including several quite major ones.
In all cases, updating is recommended. To do this, go to the settings of your device, sectionGeneral > Software update.
watchOS 10.0.1: welcome to double tap
watchOS 10.0.1 also arrives on the occasion of the in-store release of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2. If iOS 17.0.2 is exclusive to the new iPhones, this new version of the Apple Watch OS can be installed onall watches compatible with watchOS 10. It fixes various bugs and security flaws, but also, and above all, it provides the “Double tap” functionality. This allows you to launch commands on the watch, simply by tapping your index finger on your thumb twice in a row. A fairly magical novelty, it must be admitted.
To update your watch, go to the settings, as for the iPhone.
