Cupertino has already made considerable efforts to reduce emissions from its suppliers. However, the company operates in a technology industry. It is therefore impossible for it not to pollute when manufacturing its devices.

The apple company is also taking initiatives concerning one of the most important resources on the planet:water. The company strives to minimize its use and optimizes it as much as possible. Notable initiatives include the restoration of a floodplain in Northern California, where Apple rehabilitated 300 hectares of land. Thatwill notably allow the regeneration of certain natural habitats and aquifers.

Cupertino is also leading initiatives toprotect Colorado River Basin forests from wildfires. They span more than 30,000 acres and are located in the greater Phoenix area, near Apple's Mesa data center. According to the report:

The project will help protect the watershed from the devastation caused by wildfires and ensure that the upstream reservoir can continue to support local communities.

Small interesting fact to conclude, Apple is using Lidar technology to monitor the progress of the project aimed at thinning the forests:

This is the same technology used by Apple cars,to map the Plan app.
