Apple launches free repair program for keyboards on select MacBooks and MacBook Pros

After having
noticed a
exceptional rate of MacBook keyboard failure
, followed by an action in
justice launched against it by users in view of this fragility of the
keyboard, the Apple firm has finally launched aprogram of
free repair for the incriminated machines
. Be careful, to
take advantage, you must check that the keyboard problem is indeed one of the 3
listed below, as detailed in
page detailing the replacement program
. Affected MacBooks
go back to the 12-inch retina models from 2015:

The keyboard problem actually affects many MacBooks and MacBooks
Recent pros. In most cases it results in keys that are
findblocked due to insertion of dust.

Here is what Apple specifies on this subject, listing 3 cases in which
the user can take advantage of the free repair program:

  • Letters or characters repeat unexpectedly
  • Letters or characters do not appear
  • One or more keys seem “stuck” or unresponsive
    not consistently

Another condition, not all MacBooks are affected, only

You should know that, even if the Cupertino company does not indicate it, all
MacBooks listed use thenew key mechanism
keyboard
called “butterfly”. This allows a very support stroke
short, and as a result, the design of an extremely thin keyboard. Reverse of the

at the slightest dust.

Still, people meeting the two criteria, model of
