As surprising as it may seem,
it is thanks to a complaint that we learn of Apple's interest, it seems
particularly increased recently, for the field ofbatteries
electric.
In fact, the manufacturerA123
Systemshas just filed a complaint against Apple for soliciting its
employees.
There are now 5 former employees of the battery manufacturer, who have
joined Apple in recent months:
More precisely, thesespecialistsseem to be
key employees of the System Venture Technologies division, specialized
in the incubation of innovative projects.
It was first of all their technical director, Mujeeb Ijaz, who would have joined
Apple last June, then more recently it would have been joined by four of
his former colleagues.
The complaint states that Apple allegedly conducted acampaign of
aggressive recruitment and solicitationsince last June aiming
specifically the personnel of A123 Systems. The company indicates that these
departures of key people led to the cessation of certain projects, in the absence
skills to take over from them. She adds that Apple would also have
sought to attract staff familiar with its working technologies
for partners like LG, Panasonic, Samsung or Toshiba.
The timing of these recruitments obviously brings back thenews
recent news regarding the launch of Project Titanat Apple in order to
develop an autonomous electric car. The company would potentially
about to create adivision dedicated to batteries.
But the skills in the field of batteries is of course
also of capital importance formachine autonomy
mobiles d’Apple, whether iPhone, iPad, MacBook or... Apple
Watch of course!
Beyond the competitive and legal aspect linked to these recruitments, it is
particularly interesting and encouraging to see Apple active on the
subject. As for the battle of talents, it
rages in silicon valley
