Apple Store: the site is changing its design again and has a new menu

  • Apple has revisited its official website
  • Menus are better organized, but perhaps less accessible
  • The new site is available now

Apple has published anew version of its showcase site, where we see the disappearance of the traditional icons of the top menu which, in the foreground, have disappeared. Instead, the manufacturer preferred to list the names of its flagship devices, on which you just have to click to find a detailed presentation (images, technical characteristics, price, etc.) of each of them. Previously, the images were more accessible for people with cognitive or visual impairments, which contrasts quite sharply with Cupertino's efforts in this area.

This reorganization comes as the company recently unveiled the new second-generation HomePod, the 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro or M2 Max chips, and the 2023 Mac mini, all of which are well featured here. The change also took place on mobile, obviously, where the majority of the Apple firm's visitors are probably concentrated.

Services in the spotlight

With this, Apple has created a sectionEntertainmentwhere we find direct access to all its services by subscription. This is the case of Apple One, which itself brings together the other Apple Arcade, Apple Music or Apple TV+. The latter two also benefit from a direct shortcut to their dedicated assistance, which can otherwise be consulted via the eponymous app.just updated too.

As a reminder,Apple Oneallows you to consult the catalogs of all of these apps unlimitedly but with a bundled price allowing you to save a few euros. For example, with Apple One Individual, you will be entitled to Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and 50 GB of storage on iCloud+ for only 16.95 euros per month, which saves 7 euros per month compared to the price cumulative of these unit offers. But Amazon, with Prime Video, Prime Music and its own games, offers a fierce alternative which, depending on the combination, can be more affordable than the Apple One packages.

Time for a makeover under the Tim Cook era

The Apple Store site is not the only one to have received such improvements. Many other interfaces from the firm to Apple have been revisited recently,as in the case of iCloud account admin panel for users. On macOS, we also remember the dock icons, which now look more like those of iPadOS.
