The new iCloud is now available to everyone

Preview in beta version for several days,the new version of iCloudis finally offered to the general public. All you have to do is log in to your account as usual and you will be able to discover new icons as well as much brighter colors than before. The layout of the different features has also been changed.

The home page can be personalized as desired, as can be done with thewidgetson the iPhone screen, by moving each module wherever we want. For example, it is possible to choose to access your online photo gallery, a preview of your Mail inbox or even upcoming appointments in the Calendar app in this way. Everything is of course responsive and synchronized with all your Apple devices.

Manage your Apple ID in just a few clicks

By clicking on your profile photo then choosingiCloud Settings, a control panel also reissued allows you to know what isyour iCloud planand how to upgrade it if necessary. As a reminder, Apple offers 5 GB of storage space for free but it is possible to upgrade to 50 GB for 0.99 euros per month. And for 2.99 euros, the memory increases to 200 GB, compared to 9.99 euros per month for 2 TB.

FromiCloud Settings, you can also access theLocate service. This allows, as its name suggests, to find your lost devices on a map in real time. With this, iCloud offers a moduleData recoveryallowing you to restore deleted files or bookmarks. Apple's new site finally has a “+” button that you just have to click on to start writing a message or to create a spreadsheet with the proprietary Numbers app.

Our opinion

The new version of iCloud is, above all, remarkable for its alignment with the rest of the Apple ecosystem. We find the same guidelines as on iPad and the minimalism makes the tool very pleasant and easy to use. In the end,the experience is much more intuitivethan before.

However, we note someslowdowns, especially when scrolling with the wheel. We can bet that the bug will soon be resolved by the developer, who rarely delays deploying this type of fix.
