After “only” 14 years of waiting, the calculator could arrive on iPad

This is probably not the announcement of the century, and yet it could change the lives of millions of people around the world. The calculator application, which we are used to using on iPhone and Mac, should arrive soon oniPad.

Because yes, as crazy as it may seem, the native application developed by Apple for its smartphones and computers has never arrived on the iPad. Apple tablets could well taste it for the first time with iPadOS 18, the presentation of which is expected on June 10 andthe WWDC opening conference.

In his latest report on the subject, Bloomberg agency journalist Mark Gurman explains that this application, although basic, should therefore arrive on the iPad, after only 14 years of waiting.

Apple has revamped the Calculator app and is bringing it to the iPad for the first time. On the iPad and Mac, the app will use the same overall interface — with round buttons — as the existing iPhone version.https://t.co/pQ4iFINloy

As he explains in his message (above), the Apple brand should use the same ergonomics for Mac and iPad. The user experience should therefore be generally the same. A fairly logical choice when we know that more and more people use their iPad with a keyboard.

The iPad gets up to date

Since its launch, the iPad has always had a few holes in its racket.Up to iPadOS 16,the weather appwas missing from the tablet. The same goes for the Calculator application which should therefore arrive this year, a year after the weather forecast.

The explanations concerning this lack of native applications on the iPad have always been more or less vague, but Apple seems to want to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. The Cupertino company plans to add several native applications to its tablets, starting withthe Calculatornext June 10.
