Apple just introduced a new iPad to the world this week. If the Apple brand has chosen to update the smallest of its models, three years after its last version, it has integrated “Pro” features. The first glaring point about this isthe introduction of the A17 Pro chip.
This processor was until now reserved for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. This was a cutting-edge feature. WithoutApple Intelligence, this new iPad mini should have had an A16 chip to work, like the classic iPhone 15s. But the arrival of this artificial intelligence functionality has completely reshuffled the cards for Cupertino.

A small iPad Pro
Another major novelty forthe 7th generation iPad mini, Apple has made it compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro. As its name suggests, this new version of the iPhone stylus was originally designed only for iPad Pros. It is therefore rather surprising to see an iPad mini in the list of compatible devices.
Third point which could lead one to believe that the iPad mini is in reality a small iPad Pro is the development of already existing functionality. If USB-C connectivity has become an obligation, Apple has provided ultra-fast transfer speed on the iPad mini with 10 Gbit/s. An effort that would have been characteristic of a “Pro” product.
Apple has also incorporated new standards intothe 7th generation iPad mini. It benefits from Wifi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 or even eSIM functionality with 5G compatibility for people who opt for the version with a cellular connection.
