Battery: the iPhone 16 Pro Max far ahead of the competition

Apple presented the iPhone 16 to the whole worldlast September 9. In addition to the standard version, the phone has a “Plus” model, a “Pro” and finally, a “Pro Max”. If the latter is the largest of the four, it is also logically the most enduring.

According to his calculations,l’iPhone 16 Pro Maxhas a 4685 mAh battery. During the internal test, it held18 hours and 6 minutesbefore giving up the ghost.

If this data means nothing without comparison, here are some elements to fully understand the scale of the feat. The OnePlus 12 smartphone, for example, lasted more than5:30 p.m.before going out. For its part, the latest models from Samsung, the S24 Plus and Ultra, obtained almost identical scores, around16 hours and 45 minutes.

Apple does much better

The Korean giant's two high-end smartphones were nevertheless more durable than the iPhone 16 Pro, which lasted 16 hours and 29 minutes with its 4,674 mAh battery. For its part, the “classic” iPhone 16 managed to run for 12 hours and 43 minutes. This is more than an hour better than the iPhone 15, launched last year by Apple.

This significant change in iPhone autonomy is seen even better with the Pro model. The latter would have managed to stay lit for 14 hours and 7 minutes. That's simply over 3 hours and 30 minutes longer thanl’iPhone 15 Prolast year.

A real leap forward on the part of Apple which can be explained by the arrival of a new A18 chip, announced as much less energy intensive. The Apple brand has also worked on the internal architecture of its smartphones to optimize the use cycle between two charges.
