“Bendgate”: internal documents indicate that Apple was aware of lower resistance of the iPhone 6

Shortly after the release of the iPhone 6
which introduced a new design still present with the iPhone 8 today,
we have seen many cases of twisted iPhone 6 appear, and in particular with the
Plus model.

To communicate about this “Bendgate” phenomenon, Apple organized a
“transparency” operationin his
labs to show journalists how the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were
tortured to ensure that the machines withstand the shock in use
daily.

Apple has never publicly acknowledged that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have a
twisting and design problem, but according to a new report published
by the Motherboard site, and more precisely internal documents reveal
of theinteresting figuresand indicate thatApple was
aware that this generation of iPhone could twist more
easily
, which could lead toother problems with
the device
.

Over time, this twisting problem that particularly affects the iPhone 6
More could lead
stopping operation of the touch screen
accompanied by a gray bar
flashing light appearing at the top of the screen. More precisely the map
The screen controller could break under the twist of the iPhone 6 Plus.

Judge Lucy Koh revealed some of the contents ofdocuments
Apple internals
as part of a class action lawsuit for
this case of defective touch screen following a design problem with
l’iPhone 6.

We learn thatApple knew the iPhone 6 was 3.3 times more likely
to twist
than the iPhone 5s, and thatiPhone 6 Plus was 7.2
times more prone to twisting than the iPhone 5s
.

Apple has never publicly acknowledged this fact, instead the company
Cupertino has revised the design of the iPhone 6 in the next generation iPhone 6s
