Apple just released the first beta of iOS 12.2 for developers last night. This includes some new features and changes, which we have listedin this article.
This version of iOS also includes a hidden change in settings. This almost officially confirmsone of the new features of the next AirPods, which Apple should unveil soon.
More precisely in iOS 12.2, there is anew configuration screen for the “Hey Siri” function. This clearly states that it is possible to use this key phrase with the iPhone of course, but also, and above all,with AirPods.
This is not possible with the current version of AirPods, several rumors in recent months stated that this would arrive on the next generation of Apple's wireless headphones.
Moreover,the introductory video of the last keynoteshowed an Apple employee talking to Siri using AirPods, without having to tap the earbuds, as is currently required.
Given the addition of this new settings screen in iOS 12.2, we imagine that Apple plans to release new AirPods very soon.
