Whilel’Apple Watchhas dominated the connected health device market for nearly a decade, French company Circularunveils the second generation of its connected ringon the occasion of CES 2025. Soberly called Ring 2, it manages to integrate into a few grams of titanium all the sensors usually reserved for premium connected watches. Would this be enough to overshadow the Korean giant Samsung within the Galaxy Ringand other manufacturers like Ultrahuman or Oura?
A miniaturized technological concentrate
Faced with 49 millimeters ofl’Apple Watch Ultra, the Ring 2 necessarily looks miniature, while integrating enough features to monitor your health. Available in four finishes – gold, silver, black and rose gold –it includes a complete measurement system. Heart rate calculation, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen level (SpO2), skin temperature, movement tracking and electrocardiogram (ECG).
Thanks to this ECG, it is even possible to identify anomalies such as irregular heartbeats, and thus act quickly in the event of a problem. One more argument for the Ring 2compared to the Galaxy Ring, which does not have an ECG.
The sensors are advertised asmore precise than previous models(Circular Ring Slim and Circular Ring Pro). To facilitate purchasing, Circular has developed an interactive tool calledDigital Ring Sizing to know your finger size. Otherwise, a kit for 5 euros is still available on the official website, including templates.
Like most other connected rings, the design is simple and without frills. © Circular
Autonomy as a strong argument
The Ring 2 takes the advantage in the endurance field withbattery life of eight days in continuous use, including sleep tracking. Yes, without a screen, it is easier to hold on to the length! In general, Apple announces a battery life of around a day for most models of its watches during normal use. The wireless charging station simplifies the process, like Apple's MagSafe system.
The Kira assistant, integrated into the application linked to the Ring 2, offersa completely redesigned interfacefor this new version.Priced at $380(no price in euros at the moment), less than half the price of an Apple Watch Ultra, the Ring 2 will be available in the spring after a crowdfunding campaign in January.
- The Circular Ring 2, a connected titanium ring, offers advanced features such as ECG, heart monitoring, skin temperature and sleep.
- It stands out with an impressive eight-day battery life and increased sensor accuracy compared to previous generations.
- It is scheduled to release in the spring and will retail for $380.
