It's now been more than a year since Apple rolled out its small connected speaker, the HomePod mini. On the menu: a rounded format, with the obvious integration of the proprietary voice assistant Siri but also very minimalist touch controls at the top of the device. But for some, that wouldn't be enough.
Parker Ortolani,to whom we already owe a concept of new EarPods, thus imagined what a HomePod mini could give with a better display. There we find in particular customizable dials to display the time, as already seen on the side ofl’Apple Watch Series 7.

A real relay for the iPhone?
The graphic designer of9to5Macalso offers additional controls during calls, for example the possibility of muting the microphone which can be very useful if you are carrying out a noisy task in the background. Another button, red and similar to that of iOS, allows you to hang up, while an additional setting takes care of the volume of the conversation.
With HomeKit,which has also acquired a number of new assets for CES 2022, users can also trigger their smart bulbs and the associated brightness intensity in a few gestures.

For music
Finally, Parker Ortolani also designed a more complete control panel for listening to music. Connected to a streaming platform, this includes the shortcut to pause a track and two others to move to the next or previous one.
Do you think Apple would agree to require less Siri with such changes on its next HomePod?
