The Agency
Nationale des Fréquences Française has just published, as it does every
month, the latest figures concerning authorizations given for
new 4G sites serving very high speed mobile phones. This allows
to have an overview of theprogression of the 4G network, months later
months, according to the operators, on French territory in mainland France and
overseas.
We have already informed you of a report of the same type in
last February, in which it was clearly established thatFree
and Numericable-SFR showed great progressat the level of
4G sites put into service in order to catch up with Bouygues and Orange.
In the September 1 report,Orange always stays
premierin the number of 4G carriers in service, while Free, good
last February, passed Numéricable-SFR thanks to a
impressive progressof the number of supports in service.
In total, as of this date, there are 21,440 authorized sites, including 18,307 in service,
all operators combined, compared to 15,862 sites in service and 18,876 authorized
February 1st.
These reports make it possible to realize the order established at the level of
4G networks in France, and give an idea of the developments to come, at least
short term. We can clearly see that theFree's ambitions take
shape, and Xavier Niel's company risksto heel
Bouygues in a few months. Numericable-SFR is lagging behind, while
that Orange, which evolves slowly,always leads the dance.
