Facebook would lose users in France

The analysis firm eMarketer, founded in 1996, regularly publishes hypotheses which prove correct regarding the evolution of thewalkdigital. This time, the company was interested in the case of the second most visited site in France, just behind Google. And it's rather bad news - on a national scale - which is coming for Facebook.

Indeed, according to the figures, the MAU (monthly active usersfor monthly active users) French of the platform would havelost 1.3%of its workforce in 2019. This would be the first year that such a phenomenon has occurred… And it would not be ready to stop any time soon.

Bye-bye Facebook

Today the country's leading social network,Facebookcould thus only convince half of the population of our country by 2022. Germany is also impacted by this decline. There, WhatsApp is more preferred for communicating with friends. And with us?Instagramsees more and more young people flooding in. Let's not forget that these two services... Now belong to Facebook, and are therefore not really competitors.

The other reason that would push consumers to connect less to the Menlo Park application? Its decisive role in the numerous scandals and affairs which have affected it recently, likeCambridge Analytica.A story that cost the Californian firm 5 billionand since which more and more Internet users have announced that they are leaving its site.

However, it is important to put things into perspective: Facebook remainsfirst on the podium worldwide. And there is little chance that its status will be violently turbulent at the moment, as its hegemony over its sector of activity places it among the greatest powers on the planet.
