The disagreement over the unlocking of iPhones between Apple and the FBI is causing a lot of talk at the moment,as seen here. And Apple seems ready to go to trial against the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The affair, which gained momentum at the start of the year, even became politicized, with Trump putting a lot of pressure on Tim Cook's shoulders with a single tweet.
And yet, as we know, the FBI has already done so in the past without the help of the Californian firm to unlock iPhones. In addition, information released by Forbes magazine recently reveals that the American investigative office has already succeeded in unlocking an iPhone 11 Pro with the GrayKey tool. This iPhone unlocking case that we thoughtinoperative since iOS 12would therefore have worked and made it possible to expose the most recent iPhone.
This greatly calls into question the FBI's interests in its appeal to Apple for help in obtaining data from two iPhones of the Pensacola shooter. Especially since these are much older models in this case: an iPhone 5 and an iPhone 7.
It now seems obvious that with this pressure, it is all the adherents to the principle of the backdoor who are joining the movement, thus forcing Tim Cook, but also the other tech giants defending the protection of private data.
