Hijack: the stratospheric success of Apple TV+

She made everyone agree.Hijack, the Apple TV+ series, was a big hit on the platform this summer. The success of this original creation, which stars the excellent Idris Elba, has just been confirmed by new audience figures.

Our colleagues fromDeadlinein fact relays the statistics provided by the Nielsen company. We thus note thatHijackranked 7th in its top 10 original series when the last episode was broadcast. In total, analysts noted no less than 357 million minutes viewed during the week from July 31 to August 6.

Apple TV+ is gaining momentum

The only other Apple TV+ series that managed to climb into this top 10 is none other thanTed Lasso, the huge hit from the Cupertino company's streaming service. To put it in context, this is in fact a huge achievement because the mass of subscribers on the platform is much smaller than services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Disney+ which usually dominate this list. Users must therefore be very diligent for Apple to have a chance of competing with its rivals.

Note thatHijackcan also boast of other good news. We thus learned that this production appeared in the top 10 streaming produced by Reelgood, throughout the broadcast of its seven episodes.

These reasons for celebration do not come alone for Apple TV+ which continues to gain momentum. Recently,we were talking to youmoreover from this study of the Reelgood site which underlines the fact that the service has responded to one of its main faults: its lack of content. Thus, between June 2022 and June 2023, the number of films and series broadcast on the platform increased by 51%, going from 130 to 200 titles.
