Every month, Mixpanel observes the web and sees a lot of things happening. This
that Internet users consult, comment or even the version and the OS
that they use.
Drawing on a very large number of varied website records,
Mixpanel is thus able to doaccurately specify the version of iOS
most used over a given period of time:
Looking more closely at what happened over the last week, we
note that:
- iOS 6.1.3, released two weeks ago, already represents more than 50% of
versions of iOS seen on the web (51.23%).
- Conversely, iOS 5 is almost no longer used at all since it represents
just over 6%.
As we have already often seen, when a new version
of iOS is released and even if it only brings a few minor updates, the
adoption rate is often very high, this is still the case here.
Apple has a habit of allowing its devices to install the latest
OS updates for at least two years after their release. Alone
the iPhone 3GS was given an extension. However, among the 5% still under
iOS 5 today, I wouldn't be surprised to find a good number of iPads
1.
Let's not forget our jailbreak-loving friends who, since it was
compatible with iOS 6, have decided to take the plunge too, but remain
blocked in step 6.1.2.
