Apple has deployed a new version of iOS 15.3 dedicated todevelopers, which followsa second beta arrived a few days earlier. This time, however, it is a version dedicated to app creators and informed testers only, but announced as “release candidate” (RC). This means that this could, in theory, be the last edition of its kind before a release to all users and supposed to be free of a majority of bugs.
Be careful, however, because it may have happened in the past that Apple offered two RC versions before its final update.
Safari security flaw fixed
Among the changes brought with iOS 15.3 RC andiPadOS 15.3 RC(which come out at the same time, as often), we can notably citethe famous breach in the proprietary Safari browserrevealed this week, finally fulfilled here.
However, we do not know precisely when the general public will also be entitled to this fix. Generally, you have to wait between seven and ten days for this to be the case, but the delays were longer during the holiday period and we do not know if the calendar has since picked up speed.
Unsurprisingly, Apple also updatedtvOS 15.3towards another RC but without indicating whether additional functionalities are included. It is therefore assumed that as with iPadOS 15.3 and iOS 15.3 (RC), the content will focus on providing solutions to reported technical issues and stability.
Finally, it is also the operating system ofApple Watchwhich goes to version 8.4 (RC). This time, Apple fixed an issue where the chargers on some Series 7s were not powering the watches as expected.
