The arrival during the week of the iOS 17.2.1 surprise update surprised the Apple observers. But for many, this new update was only a security fix, resolving bugs present in the iPhone operating system. It seems in reality that problems are more serious than that.
Indeed, if in France the description of the update is very summary “This update provides important fixes and is recommended to all users” this is not the case in all countries. In some regions of the world, Apple mentions the arrival of fixes oniPhone batteries.
In China and Japan, the update promises users to"Subject a problem that can lead to a faster battery discharge under certain conditions".It was Apple Brandon Vulti's user and specialist who was the first to notify this change from one country to another on the iPhone.
Here’s an interesting note about iOS 17.2.1 🤨🔋
The Japanese release notes mention a fix for battery drain:
“This update addresses an issue where the battery may drain quickly under certain conditions.”
Meanwhile, the English release notes do not mention this. 🤔pic.twitter.com/lQ192SEJp6

A global “problem”?
For its part, the MacRumors information site tried to contact Apple in order to obtain more information on this subject, but the apple brand has not yet given any response to the media. It would be interesting to know if the “problem” mentioned by Apple only exists in some countries or if the apple brand has simply forgotten to notify all of its users of a change on the autonomy of their smartphone.
Since the arrival of iOS 17, several users have complained of a considerable fall in their autonomy. For a while, the new iPhone 15even tended to overheat. In recent months, the problem has been solved by Apple.
