iOS 17.5.1 can no longer be reinstalled if you have already updated your iPhone to iOS 17.6, the release date of which coincides with July 29. Nothing abnormal here, since Apple blocks all old versions of the platform that equips its phones in this way. This allows you to always benefit from the latest security patches, among other things. It is also rumored that Tim Cook's company is taking the opportunity to inflate its adoption statistics, iOS being better than Android in this area.
In any case, iOS 17.5.1 did not offer any major new features for eligible iPhone users. On the other hand, the most picky will remember that it was this version which made it possible to resolve a major bug allowing photos previously deleted by the user to reappear on the screen.
How to continue to enjoy iOS 17.5.1?
If your iPhone is currently running iOS 17.5.1, simply do not update it to iOS 17.6 to continue enjoying your current version. Be aware, however, that this may expose you to some cybersecurity concerns, not to mention potential uncorrected bugs.
Some also manage to force the downgrade, but this requires overriding the limitations of iOS – which the developer strictly advises against.
