iOS 17 should put the Control Center in the spotlight

Apple should announce on June 5the release of iOS 17. The new version of the iPhone operating system will be released in the form of an update. It will likely be available during the summer in beta before Apple formalizes its release in September with the new generation of iPhone 15.

It is always difficult for analysts to predict how Apple plans to change its software. Unlike hardware advances, which are visible in factories in China or other countries, Apple's software evidence is protected, at the heart of the system, in Cupertino.

Software advances, Apple's last secret?

From the company's headquarters, hundreds of engineers are working on the new iOS mount. If they are helped in their task by developers from all over the world, the work carried out around a new iOS is always very secret. Even so, some savvy users are able to find hints of what's coming in lines of code within beta versions or directly by communicating with knowledgeable sources.

This is the case of a well-known user on the Macrumors forum. Last year this person had already managed to announce “Dynamic Island” months before the official presentation made by Tim Cook and his teams. Today, it just announced a major update in iOS 17.

According to him, the Cupertino company could offer an overhaul of the control center on the next version of iPhone software. The most popular phones in the world use this rather special screen to adjust the brightness of the screen or the sound volume. It is also possible to access different settings such as Bluetooth, Wifi or even cellular data.

The control center, the logical next step for Apple?

Airplane mode is also found on the control center as well as the new “focus modes”. An architecture which could therefore be reviewed in depth by the Apple teams as the control center celebrates its 10th anniversary. The Cupertino company, accustomed to simplism and minimalism, should draw inspiration from these codes which make up its DNA to review the operation of the control center.

When leavingd’iOS 16Last year, Apple worked a lot on the iPhone's lock screen. Three years ago, with iOS 14, it was the home screen that was given a major transformation with the arrival of Widgets. It would therefore be logical for Apple to attack the control center this year, the last control panel which has not been extensively modified in recent years.

Apple should present iOS 17 in its first version duringthe next edition of WWDC.
