iOS 19: when the Apple Vision Pro inspires the iPhone of the future

The developers of Apple Park in Cupertino are currently going through a complicated period. Mark Gurman revealed last month thatan unusual delayin the deployment of the new features of iOS 18 would be the cause.

This delay would have a direct impact on the preparation of the next major version of the iPhone operating system. This is of course iOS 19, which should arrive in September 2025, if Apple follows its usual schedule.

If a delay is looming regarding the integration of several important additions in iOS 19, Jon Prosser, famous for his precise leaks concerning Apple products, has just revealeda major change that could arrive as soon as iOS 19 is released.

A visionOS-style redesign for the Camera app

According to Jon Prosser, famous leaker and host of the YouTube channel Front Page Tech, iOS 19 will welcome aCompletely redesigned Camera app, inspired by the visionOS interface, the operating system of the Apple Vision Pro.

Jon Prosser obtained images from the new app, but chose to recreate his own renders to protect his sources. We discover theretranslucent menusfor the different camera controls, with a design very similar to that of visionOS.

The controls are split into two categories, photo and video, with options for recording spatial video, enabling a self-timer for photos, and more.Additional commandsfor resolution and frame rate of videos appear at the top of the screen if necessary.

Clean aesthetics for a better experience

Overall, the new design offers amore refined aesthetic, with more of the screen dedicated to showing what the camera captures, compared to iOS 18. This redesign could foreshadow broader design changes in iOS 19, extending to other interfaces and native apps .
