iPad 11: what if it already arrived in January?

Apple would like to launch a new version of its “entry-level” iPad at the start of the year. The Cupertino company could arrive with this product as early as January. This tablet, which has not been updated since the start of 2022, would be entitled to several major developments. Starting with the arrival of Apple Intelligence, Apple's big new software product.

To allow this option to work on the iPad, Apple would have to change the processor at the heart of the tablet. In place of the current A14 chip, the Apple brand would therefore have planned to place an A17 Pro chip, already seen on the latest generation iPad mini or on theiPhone 15 Pro et Pro Max.

As a reminder, the 10th generation iPad is now sold at a price of €409 by Apple. Analysts expect the price to remain the same for the 11th generation iPad.

A “home” 5G modem?

Another novelty planned by Apple for this new version of its iPad, the arrival of an “in-house” 5G modem. Apple has in fact been working for several years on the design of its own chip for its devices. It bought Intel's infrastructure at great expense to design proprietary 5G modems. For now, while waiting for Apple's chips to be on the market, it is the Californian giant Qualcomm which supplies Apple for its iPhone and iPad.

In addition to this new version of the entry-level iPad, Apple should update itsiPhone SEas well as hisiPad Air. These two new products should nevertheless arrive a little later, in spring 2025. They should be the subject of an Apple conference, or at least a series of videos to present their characteristics, as was the case with the new MacBook Pro, Mac mini and iMac a few months ago.
