The new iPad Pro does have a mini-LED screen

Apple did not really announce it this Tuesday evening, and yetthe rumors have been right for months already. Many leakers and other tipsters had predicted the arrival of a mini-LED screen on the new iPad Pro, months before the release of the Apple tablet. There were therefore many observers, more or less informed, in front of the Cupertino company's keynote earlier this week.

But during his presentation, the thinking heads of Applewere careful not to tell us about mini-LEDs and other technical characteristics, which are ultimately of little interest to the general public. The firm nevertheless supported its presentation speech on the qualities of this new screen, without ever talking about mini-LED technology strictly speaking. The latter was evoked indirectly through the name given to the screen “Liquid Retina XDR”.

It is supposed to provide more contrast and better image quality than the AMOLED screens previously used by Apple. It was presented by the Apple brand as the direct descendant of the Pro Display XDR, the monitor that Apple sells today for its desktop devices, mainly like the Mac mini.

The iPad Pro with mini-LED: a full-scale test before the iPhone?

If the comparison can be made on several points, others mark a clear difference between the two screens, the most important of which is this absence of mini-LED technology on the Pro Display XDR. This new LCD screen technique is currently exclusive to the iPad Pro.

According to rumors about it, it could be brought to other models during the year, notably the 16-inch MacBook Pro which has now been announced for months, or even on the next iPhone, although this theory is today contested by a growing number of informants who gravitate around the Apple brand.
