And while one might have thought that Apple would take the opportunity to lower the selling price of the iPhone 12, this would ultimately not be the case, according to analysis Jeff Pu.
This, in a research and analysis note about Apple, maintains that the new iPhone range should be sold more expensively than that of 2019.
What price for the iPhone 12?
According to the source, the first price iPhone of 2020, the 5.4-inch 12 model, should cost $749 (i.e.859 eurosbased on price equivalences between the French Apple Store and the American Apple Store).
It is50 dollars (or 50 euros) more than the cheapest iPhone 11, sold for 699 dollars (809 euros). The price increase would actually be inevitable for the iPhone 12, given that even the entry-level non-Pro model would this time be equipped with an OLED screen, like all the others, in addition to supporting 5G. The iPhone 11 still benefits from LCD technology, much less expensive than OLED.
Still according to the analysis, the other iPhone 12 model which should arrive this year, 6.1 inches, i.e. screen size identical to that of the iPhone 11 and XR, should cost799 or 849 dollars (899 or 979 euros). This is an increase of $100-150 over the 2019 iPhone 11.
There remains a glimmer of hope, however, that the price of the next iPhones will not increase. Indeed, Jon Prosser, source of regular leaks about Apple in recent months, affirms that the first price iPhone 12 should start at 649 dollars (759 euros), 50 dollars/euros less than the iPhone 11 (809 euros).
