The price of the iPhone 13 may not please everyone

According to the latest report from DigiTimes, Apple is about to increase the price of its iPhone 13. This increase would be largely causedby TSMC, Apple's chip producerhaving itself increased its prices. While the world of semiconductors is experiencing a historic shortage, TSMC, one of the biggest players in this market, intends to take advantage of it and raise prices. According to the report, the Taiwanese company could add 20% to the bill for all its customers, including Apple.

Still according to information from DigiTimes these price changes should only come into effect in January, but Apple could increase the price of its iPhone 13 as soon as it is released. According to the sources cited in the report, for Apple the price increase at TSMC should have a final impact of 3 to 5%.

A logical increase for Apple?

While the apple brand has long been mocked for its prices considered excessive by some, the latter had made great efforts in this direction in order to “fall into line”. But ultimately, while observers have already noted a general increase in prices of 5 to 10% since the start of the shortage, the Cupertino company could, here again, follow the movement, and increase its prices.

Announced as a simple evolution of the iPhone 12,l’iPhone 13, which some had nicknamed iPhone 12S, should finally arrive with several new features. The most important but also the one that is the most talked about at the moment concerns the iPhone notch. Smaller, it should give up a little screen space on this new generation of smartphones from Apple.

After a complicated launch in the iPhone 12 range, the “mini” version of Apple's phone should still be there this year with an iPhone 13 mini, surely the last of this caliber.
