Please note, however, that asthe chip is more powerful, it is possible that game publishers will take advantage of this to rely more on its velocity and therefore consume more electricity with the iPhone 14 Pro than with the iPhone 13 Pro. In this case, the difference in mAh will not necessarily be noticed.

End of the notch!

The last advantage that we clearly notice with the iPhone 14 Pro if we compare them to the iPhone 13 Pro is that the new smartphones no longer have a notch but apunch. Or a more successful full-screen experience, welcome for streaming or video games.

Minor improvements

The iPhone 14 Pro is (a little) faster

Let's now move on to the less surprising differences, starting with that of the processor: the iPhone 14 Pro is equipped with aA16 Bionic chipannounced with50% more bandwidththan that of the iPhone 13 Pro. But the second was already so efficient that we could not notice any slowdown on a daily basis, even during very demanding video game games. It seems that the update is only there for marketing comparisons, even if it is clear that the public would have asked questions without changes on the CPU side.

Both the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro have a Neural Engine that processes information with artificial intelligence. Moreover, you should know that theRAMhas also perhaps been improved but unfortunately Apple does not communicate this information to the public. We will have to wait for proper dismantling to be sure.

Here are the colors available with the iPhone 14 Pro:

The differences are notable with the iPhone 13 Pro, as with each change of range:

Apple has shared a comparison of the different storage capacities offered with its iPhone 14 Pro. These are:

Since neither the iPhone 14 Pro nor the iPhone 13 Pro have an SD card slot, you will have to make do with these technical characteristics. To be compared withthe few euros per year that an iCloud+ subscription can cost you, Apple's online storage offering.

New design

Now let's move on to the design comparison. You may not have noticed it at first, but the iPhone 14 Pros are larger andthickerthan the iPhone 13 Pro because of their higher quality camera. Indeed, to achieve such a feat, Apple had to make the new mobiles more enveloped so that their dimensions are 147.5 x 71.5 x 7.85 mm compared to 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.65 mm for iPhone 13 Pro. We are therefore on a difference in thickness of 0.2 mm, which feels a little in the hands. In the pocket too, with a weight of 206 g compared to the 203 g of the iPhone 13 Pro.

It's a real shame, especially when we know that manufacturers have all the know-how necessary to miniaturize their technologies. The iPhone 14 Pro, however, remains more compact than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but small pockets might regret its bulk compared to the iPhone 13 Pro.

No USB-C port

Also good to know: iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro are both powered by a plugLightning. The cable is however provided in the box, but you will need to purchase your power adapter. USB-C, which presents notable differences when it comes to troubleshooting those around it, should arrive later. Maybe for a comparison with the iPhone 15…

Should you upgrade to the iPhone 14 Pro? Our opinion

If you have an older iPhone, such as an iPhoneimproved mobile for a substantially similar priceto the iPhone 13 Pro and allowing you to avoid no longer receiving updates. We also notice services inphotowhich are certainly better on iPhone 14 Pro, unlike the iPhone 13 Pro beaten by other Android mobiles. For Instagram aficionados and others, this is perhaps a detail that could come into play.

Moreover, Apple offers an offer ofreprise: if you return your iPhone 13 Pro, you can get several hundred euros off the purchase of an iPhone 14 Pro. The amount allocated to you will differ depending on the condition of your mobile. For example, a scratched iPhone 13 Pro will be valued less than a like-new iPhone 13 Pro. It's also a good gesture for the planet, compared to purchasing a product from the factory without recycling your old equipment. Otherwise, if you have apackagewith commitment and the commitment period is over, then again it may be interesting to upgrade your iPhone.

Despite everything, if you already have an iPhone 13 Pro at home then you will understand that, compared to the iPhone 14 Pro, it remains very well made and spending more than a thousand euros again will not be worth it the punishment. The differences are slight between the two: in this case, it is betterwait maybe a yeareven more in order to wait for the arrival of a hypothetical iPhone 15 Pro in 2023.
