iPhone 15: better night shots thanks to the competition

Apple introduces a new family of high-end smartphones every year. The last being represented by the iPhone 14 collection, we can assume that the next one will be that of the iPhone 15. We do not know anything with certainty about their technical sheets at the moment, but clues have already reached us, particularly concerning the design of the product. . It is indeed rumored that thiscould look like another fairly old model.

And today, it's another new piece of information, this time from the Asian mediaNikkei, which makes the headlines. According to the newspaper, the next premium iPhone would be equipped with a high-performance sensor from Sony. However, the Japanese manufacturer is already taking care of the rear photo modules for Cupertino. But here, it would be a question of an even more effective component than previously. We'll explain it to you.

Perfect in low light

In reality, the new part from Sony would be equipped with a functionality that would offer more successful shots at night. This, thanks to a processcapturing more light at the pixel level itself and helping to limit exposure defects. Nikkei goes so far as to specify that the system would allowtake backlit photos of faceswith improved quality.

However, it is still impossible, it seems, to know whether Sony will only take care of the iPhone 15 or theiPhone 15 Pro. With the iPhone 14, Apple had in fact divided its selection into two categories of sensors. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have a wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle on the front, while the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are also entitled to a telephoto lens and a LiDAR. Under this acronym lies a “time of flight” technology, which better measures the distances to subjects and can, for example, make the focus more precise than without using it.

Beware of rumors

As usual, Apple has not confirmed the news and there is almost no chance that this will be the case before the affected mobiles see the light of day. Better thenconsider this hypothesis with a grain of saltfor now.

If the manufacturer does not deviate from its habits, we could see the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro arrive in September 2023. Among the other rumors concerning them, the leaks have in turn mentioned a titanium chassis, the abandonment of the Lightning port in favor of the universal and reversible USB-C standard or evenbetter zoom thanks to a “periscope” format lens.
