iPhone 15 Pro: the Action button anticipated by case manufacturers

• iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max expected to arrive tonight
• They would integrate a new button with multiple possibilities
• This button would replace the silent mode switch

The new iPhone 15 range should arrive this evening during the Keynote to followby our side. Two Pro models are expected to carry this new quartet. They would benefit from exclusive new products. One of them concerns the design of the case and the integration of anew buttonnever seen before on iPhone, but not so new at Apple. This is the “Action” key, already present on Apple Watch, Ultra model.

And until now, rumors were tight-lipped about its appearance on iPhone 15. But a new X publication from Spigen iscame to support change.

In the post seen on Elon Musk's platform, we can see aslice of what would be an iPhone, with three buttons. These would be the two volume buttons accompanied by a new button located precisely at the location of the current mute switch. We would therefore have there, facing us and in image,the Action buttonthat the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max would integrate on their left edge.

Why such a button on iPhone?

The Action button on Apple Watch Ultra allows you to launch an action very quickly, with a simple press. This action can be personalized. For example, you can use the key to turn on the flashlight, launch an activity or a shortcut, among other things (see Apple's help on this subject).

We imagine a similar implementation of the functionality on iPhone 15 Pro. If the back of the iPhonecan already be used to launch quick actions, having a dedicated and physical button, with haptic feedback, could be even more practical. Just being able to throwany shortcutwith a single press makes us dream of multiple possibilities (trigger a concentration mode, turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, call a specific contact, create a new Apple Notes note, etc.).

Last year, Dynamic Island allowed the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max to stand out from the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. For this time, apart from possible color differences between 15 Pro/Pro Max and 15/15 Plus, the most visually differentiating factorcould well be this new Action button!
