iPhone 16: a surprising first benchmark for the A18 chip

A benchmark reveals more about the performance of the A18 chip in the iPhone 16

The Geekbench site was able to put the A18 chip in the iPhone 16 to the test in its new benchmark. The opportunity to discover that it offers~10% better single-core performance than the A17 chip. This also represents an increase of 24% compared to the A16 of the iPhone 15. A figure a little below the 30% announced by Apple during its back-to-school keynote.

On the other hand, the multi-core performance of the A18 chip seems quite low.They are 8% higher than those of the A17 chip, but approximately 8% lower than those of the A17 Pro. Surprising, even if we must remember that a benchmark carried out so soon after the presentation of a product is not 100% reliable.

For the moment, the performance of the A18 Pro chip embedded by theiPhone 16 Pro et Pro Maxhave not been scrutinized.We will certainly have to wait a few days before a benchmark reveals what Apple's processor is capable of.
