iPhone 17 Air: a stolen photo reveals the back of the case (and a funny photo module)

While the iPhone 16 was released more than four months ago, rumors about its successor are now starting to intensify! Among the models expected in 2025, it is especially the iPhone 17 Air which arouses the curiosity of Internet users!

This new modelwould be added to the range of four already existing iPhones (basic iPhone, iPhone Slim, iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max). It would also bethe thinnest smartphone ever designed by Apple, measuring just 5.5mm at its narrowest point. Enough to relaunch the race for finesse, a challenge that the Apple firm has not taken up since the iPhone 6 in 2014.

A photo bar that intrigues

Today, aphotopresented as that of the frame of the iPhone 17 Air, fuels speculation. Published by the leaker “Majin Bu”, renowned for his advance revelations, it gives us a glimpse of what this newcomer could look like. Even if the photo is blurry, we can clearly see iPhone back cases witha raised bar for the camera:

It’s precisely this bar at the back that’s causing people to talk. It would house a single circular photo sensor on the left, accompanied by an LED flash and a tiny microphone hole on the right. A design reminiscent of that of the Google Pixel 9.

If this leak is confirmed, the iPhone 17 Air would be the only model in the 17 range to be satisfied with a single photo sensor, probably to gain finesse. Remember that the iPhone SE 4, which should be released during the presentation of the iPhone 17, should also feature a single photo module.

Important point to clarify: caution remains in order. This image could very well be fake, but it corroborates with previous leaks. Especially since the leaker Majin Bu has a mixed record, with sometimes accurate revelations but also some failures.

A risky bet for Apple?

If the design of the iPhone 17 Air is confirmed, you should expectcertain compromises. In addition to the single camera, Ming-Chi Kuo also mentions a single speaker, the absence of a physical SIM cardau profit de l'eSIM, and a standard A19 chip instead of the more powerful Pro variant. So many concessions necessary to achieve a record thinness of only 5.5 mm.

The essentials would be preserved, with a 6.6-inch OLED screen equipped with Dynamic Island, Face ID, and 8 GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence. It would also be the second iPhone to pursuea major transition for Apple.
