The iPhone camera transformed into a magnifying glass and other new features for iOS 10 accessibility

iOS 10 brings its share of
new products, many of which were presented on stage during the

WWDC last Monday
. But apart from an adaptation of the health functions of
the Apple Watch to people in wheelchairs, during the keynote, no
no other accessibility function has been highlighted. However, iOS 10 does not seem
no shortage of assets on this side, here is a tourimprovements
of accessibility which will be introduced by iOS new
version
:

  • The magnifying glass or “magnify” function in English: utilise
the iPhone camera like a magnifying glass, which allows reading of
small print. Can be useful for the visually impaired in particular. Of the
Setting options will be offered in the settings to make the
function accessible by triple pressing the home button.
  • Screen color settings: function which will be
available on iOS, macOS and tvOS. This is about being able to adjust the colors of
the screen and choose the colors. Prioritize people
color blindness and people with color vision disorder.
  • Improved TTY support: iOS 10 notably brings the
support for teletranscribing devices allowing the deaf, hard of hearing and
person with language and speech disorders better
    communicate by telephone.
  • Improved language support: for users
With dyslexia, iOS 10 improves text selection by voice. In addition,
new audio feedback reads text written in Voice Over for purposes of
    verification.

That's it for these iOS 10 accessibility feature improvements for
iPhone and iPad which, we hope, will continue to facilitate the digital lives of
disabled people.
