Mark Gurman recently announced thatiPhone SE 3 stocks were at their lowestin American stores. Information which foreshadowed the imminent arrival of his successor. If you were waiting for this new iPhone SE 4, you will be surprised to learn thatits design could mark a breakwith previous versions.
While we expected that the new iPhone SE 4 would take the design of the iPhone 14, a leak from Evan Blass today contradicts this hypothesis. If it is true, this marksthe end of a tradition for Apple, which used to not take the design of the latest iPhones.
A design that breaks with the past
The renders published by Evan Blass show you an iPhone SE 4 equipped with aDynamic Island, a feature previously reserved for recent models. This integration is surprising because Apple had always taken care to visually differentiate its iPhone SE from recent more high-end models. The first iPhone SE of the name took for example the design of the iPhone 5 s,while the SE 2 was inspired by the iPhone 7/8.

The revealed images also confirmabandoning the Home button, marking the definitive end of this iconic option on iPhones. Instead, you'll find an edge-to-edge screen similar to modern versions, offering more display space in a compact form factor.

A positioning that raises questions
This design evolution raises questions about the pricing positioning of the device. The transition toan OLED screen with Dynamic Islandand the integration of Face ID may significantly impact its final price. Analysts estimate thatit could be around €600 in France.
This change in strategy may not be as radical as it seems. The iPhone 17 Pro should indeed inaugurateun Dynamic Island plus compactthanks to new lens technology. Apple would thus maintain visual differentiation between its ranges, while modernizing its entry level. We would finally have an iPhone SE4 which uses the design of the iPhone 15 on the front.
