Keynote September 15: iPad and Apple Watch Series 6 yes, iPhone 12 no?

Here, Apple announced itsnext event for September 15, 2020 at 7 p.m., French time. As usual, the Cupertino company has not given any information on the content of this upcoming presentation. Normally, September is the month chosen by the company to unveil new iPhones, but also a new Apple Watch. For tablets and computers, it is more in March or October that new generations of products appear.

But this year, as you probably already know, COVID-19 has disrupted the plans of many tech companies, including Apple. And as shown by several clues revealed since the announcement of the next keynote, on September 15 a new Apple Watch and a new iPad would be presented. The iPhone 12 could well be unveiled at another conference planned for October according to recent rumors, such asthis one.

The YouTube stream of the keynote says too much?

In fact, the well-known app developer on TwitterGuilherme Rambo, after digging into the metadata of theYouTube streaming link of the future conference, realized that the keywords in the video could reveal the content of the conference.

This includes the following keywords: iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, Series 5, Series 6, iPad, iPad Air, MacBook, Wellness, Illustration, Apple TV, Digital Art, AirPods.

We see that for the Apple Watch, there are the two mentions Series 5 and Series 6, which could well mean that a new Series 6 is unveiled at this time. Concerning the iPhone, if a 12 model were to appear at the same time, Apple would logically also take the opportunity to tag the video 'iPhone 12', which is not the case. This would mean that the iPhone 12would not be announced on September 15.

For the iPad, the Californian firm does not generally present it with a number, which is why it is difficult to predict, based on the tags, whether a new generation for this product would be presented on 15-09. Butaccording to Mark Gurmanfrom the very serious publication Bloomberg, we should expect next Tuesday toannouncements mainly about the Apple Watch and the iPad. Perhaps we would be entitled to revelations on other products, like the AirTag, or a new Apple TV, but it is less obvious.

For the iPhone 12 in any case, Appel would have planned a second event which could take place a few weeks later. Although this may seem surprising, given the history of iPhone announcements made in September since 2011. But it could make sense for this year, given that the new generation of Apple smartphones should only arrive in stores in the month of 'october.

Let us remember, however, that at this stage, all of this is just speculation.
