TheWorldwide Developer Conference2022 has just ended, without the Apple brand unveiling the highly anticipated mixed reality headset that it is preparing behind the scenes. This confirms several rumors in this direction, according to which the device is not yet finished and will need several months of additional development before large-scale production.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst who has often been right in the past, thinks thatpre-orderswill not begin until the second quarter of 2023 before the item arrives in the Apple Store around June. As a reminder, the product is supposed to be worth more than a thousand euros and could only work in conjunction with an iPhone, therefore not with other mobiles.
Change of date for launch?
The researcher also thinks that the helmet will be presented during a conference which will be organized inJanuarynext. However, it is not Apple's habit to plan events on this date but rather around the months of March or April, when it is not a simple press release which announces the new products.
Other informants, however, support this theory, such asRobert Scoble last week. A source whose pedigree is certainly not equivalent to that of Kuo but remains supported by a solid media presence.
More revenue for services
Recently, we also learned that Apple is working with the gaming industrymovie theaterto create new content for its future virtual reality experience. Jon Favreau, iconic character behind the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, would notably be at the helmwhile TV+ productions reach several hundred million dollars.
Apple Arcadewould obviously be another very good candidate to offer different video games with free access, for a monthly subscription. For the moment, the platform costs 4.99 euros per month. It is available on Mac, iPhone and iPad and the App Store is one of the key ingredients already allowing its publisher to occupy first place in the global gaming market.
