The A14 Bionic chip unveils its first benchmark, here are its results

A new benchmark has come to draw up the first results of the A14 Bionic. The new Apple chip that will equip the iPhone 12 was able to receive a first test, the Geekbench score, which provides an overview of the processor's performance.

Apple has not yet formalized the arrival of the A14 Bionic in the iPhone 12, and has still not specified the details of its performance. But the Apple brand has decided to market its 10.9-inch iPad Air before its new smartphone and the latter will share the same SoC.

Premier benchmark pour l’A14 Bionic

In this first test, the Geekbenck score obtained by the A14 Bionic evaluates the chip's performance at 1582 points for the single-core benchmark and 4198 points for multi-core. The difference between the capabilities of the 13 Bionic that equips the iPhone 11 and this new SoC was not yet clear. Now we can start comparing them.

Thus, the previous chip revealed a score of 1134 points for single-core and 3512 for multi-core. Apple has therefore well and truly worked on the heart of its product, as it will have to take care of the arrival of 5G compatibility in Apple's telephony, just as it will be integrated into the iPads and the next Macs.

On the other hand, for computers, we can expect an increase in the cores present (six cores on the iPhone 12 and the iPad Air) to be able to support the load of additional tasks that a Mac requires. However, its cadence will remain the same, at 2.99 GHz compared to 2.67 GHz for the A13 Bionic chip. Its design is carried out by TSMC and it will be engraved in 5 nm, the most impressive precision on the market.

See you most certainly on October 13th forthe presentation of the new iPhone 12. To learn more aboutthe iPad Air 2020, discover our comparison herewith the 2019 model.
